Sidewalk Detroit and Kresge Arts in Detroit Present:

What is the story of Detroit Artists today?
What is the future we want for our community?

Sidewalk Detroit has invited a dedicated group of artists to lead a two-part panel discussion, one focusing on a younger generation of artists and the other highlighting some of Detroit’s most venerable, long-term artist residents. Both will be diving into the grit of the matter: What is the story of Detroit Artists today, and what is the future we want for our community?

To begin the NOW:FUTURE summer program series and honorary celebration of the 2020 Kresge Artist Fellows, this panel discussion takes place over two sessions.

PANEL 1

The first session focuses on a younger generation of artists. Moderated by Diana J Nucera the panelist include, Sacramento Knoxx, Sterling Toles, Sherina Rodriguez, and Chace Morris. This session takes place on Wednesday, July 22, 1pm-2pm via Streamyard and live-streamed on Facebook.

PANEL 2

The second panel highlights some of Detroit’s most venerable, long-term artist residents. Moderating this panel is Desiree Cooper with panelist, Marsha Music, Reverend Robert Jones, and Shaun Nethercott. It will be held Thursday, August 6, 1pm-2pm.
